Shannon Reed,
Vice President

With more than 15 years of marketing and public relations leadership, Shannon draws from significant agency experience in communications strategy and execution, market research and media planning for consumer product, healthcare and technology clients.

Her objective as a communications consultant is to develop the right strategies and identify the right messages to enable clients to have better conversations with their target audiences, raise awareness, and shape a more valuable customer experience

Prior to her consulting work, Shannon was a vice president of a strategic marketing agency in Winston-Salem, N.C., where she spent more than five years, leading marketing teams through the strategy and creative development and execution of programs for a leading telecommunications provider, one of the nation's largest packaged food companies, as well as a venture capital group and its incubator technology start-up companies. Her work there also included multiple healthcare clients, a major Southeast financial services company, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), Winston-Salem State University, and a regional economic development group.

Shannon's previous experience includes four years with one of North Carolina's largest public relations agencies as a vice president, managing product publicity and consumer awareness, market research, communications planning and tactical execution, litigation public relations (research and planning) and community relations.

While there, Shannon developed and managed an award-winning and highly successful three-year communications initiative for N.C. Child Support Enforcement's "Deadbeat Parents" Campaign, a priority project of the state's governor. Other public relations clients included the world's best known overnight shipping company, a leading packaged food conglomerate, a national grant program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, furniture manufacturers, not-for-profit organizations and more.

Prior to agency work, Shannon was marketing manager for a Washington, D.C.-based international trade association. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
